Laid Up
I'm bored. Well, I'm a little less bored than I was before the computer got moved out to the livingroom, but still, bored. Most of my friends are at AEPG without me, which I'm remarkably not bitter about. My back is just too damn sore to even contemplate rough camping. I have occasional pangs of "I should be drinking homemade wine sitting around the campfire," but it's not too bad. My friend Crone is coming by to visit me tomorrow afternoon for tea, and that's always really nice. She says she's bringing me a treat, too, so Yay!

Also, my friend Cherub landed in town a few days early and stayed over Wednesday night. He took the bed and I slept in my chair, even though I would have loved to ravish him. Poor thing had a cold, too. *sigh* At least I got to hug him, and we had a good talk. We discussed my recent breakup, and he made me feel a little better about all my exes telling me they'd miss the sex most when our relationships ended. It's hard to explain, but he really made me think of it in a different light. Of course everyone is going to miss the physical relationship--each one is unique. Your body is never going to fit exactly the same way with someone else's body, that intimacy is going to be completely different with someone else. It's an okay thing to miss, it's okay for someone to miss that about a relationship with me. Sex with me is pretty good perk, if I do say so myself.

Now the reason why I'm home this weekend isn't all that interesting. I have a pinched sciatic nerve, and I'm not all that mobile. My priority right now is to heal in time for school because it's going to be quite intensive physically--I'm doing a 6 credit pottery production course, which means 6 hours a week in class, and lots of work on my own to fulfill assignments. I'm also going to be teaching at least 5 hours of bellydance, and taking at least 3 hours of class for myself, so I have to be in shape for that. Here's hoping my doctor can get me into physio soon.

His theory is that all the coughing I was doing last week becasue I was sick weakened some of my muscles, or at least set them up for injury. I felt a pinch in my left lower back while I was cleaning my room a bit last Wednesday, and it persisted so I was taking it easy. Saturday afternoon I just sat down the wrong way and next thing I know I was crippled. Then I tripped while going upstairs to pay my rent and dislocated my right pinky finger. On my dominant hand. It was very inconvenient to say the least. I keep whacking it, too, which hurts like a sunnuvabitch. I'm considering taping it to my ring finger so it won't get moved around so much. Owie.
