10:47AM - Saturday October 4, 2003 The trip home was full of interesting conversations dissecting our learned responses to pain stimuli, and how it differs in different situations. When we're playing at a party, pain is a good thing, but in real life we still have the automatic response of saying ouch. We do it without thinking, really, and it's usually not necessary. I think it's interesting that when you can take a step back and look at your pain, it's really the panic and fear that hurt the most. The rest can be controlled and in certain cases, enjoyed. All very interesting. Needless to say, Sunday afternoon I was exhausted, but when I got home I had to scoot right out the door for a two-hour dance rehearsal. I had no energy after that, and since we wre supposed to get some bad weather I went to bed early. I was buzzing along happily with my Hitachi when the power flickered and then went out. And my back was too sore to finish by hand. My life sucked right then, so I just decided to fall asleep.
