11:01PM - Wednesday July 28, 2004 Me<-----very bad Heh. Anyway, the performance went really well even though the dance area was smaller than we'd anticipated--there was a sword clash at the beginning, and some brass poles to contend with, but we rocked. People lurve bellydancers with swords. And Mermaid performed her very first self-created solo! She was so nervous about it, but she did a fantastic job, and when she missed some of her choreography she recovered really well! And SnowWhite's solo was great, even though she was self-conscious about showing her belly off in her very first dance bra. She looked fabulous and totally charmed the crowd. And then I went in with my spiked up horns and Pris from Bladerunner eye makeup and danced to an industrial piece by Meg Lee Chin called 'And God She Created...' I told Kryptonite I dedicated all the come-hither hands to him. Everybody say 'Awwwwwwwww!' I know I'm squishy. I love doing back bends, and I did this really cool move where I lifted one hip up really high and then did a sideways kind of backbend really quickly, kind of like a dip. It was very cool. There was a film crew there as well, filming a documentary called 'Dark Canada' and I think it's pretty likely that we'll make the final cut, which is very exciting. Also exciting was the fact that we were on the poster advertising the event! Whee! Monday night Butch and I went down to Venus Envy to see Patrick Califia do a workshop called "How to Top (for people who usually don't)" - it was really awesome! He's a really great guy, and totally hot. And he totally flirted with me! I wasn't very shy about giving answers during his workshop, and I got to chat with him a bit and he said that when he saw me I totally cheered him up. I was, ahem, very pink that night. I wore my pink skull t-shirt, bright pink armwarmers, a pink kerchief and my pink fraggle antenna headband thingy. Hee! He said he wondered to himself just who that "Pink Princess of Perversity" was. Squee! That totally made my insides wriggle! Patrick Califia flirted with me! Ahem. Anyway, I managed to only change my clothes three times before going to the lecture he was giving yesterday, 'Transforming Gender and Pleasure.' Butch and I arrived to find that the lecture had been cancelled because he was sick. We were very sad, so we went and consoled ourselves with beer and tiramisu at the Shoe Shop with our friend Duana. Oh woe. All drooling over here.
